DAY 6 - Dead Flies and A Little Bimble Around The Cotswolds

Day 6 Starting 42,536

Day 6 Finish Mileage 42,649

Day 4 mileage 113 miles

Trip Total Mileage 927 miles

After the ride over Exmoor yesterday, it was time to wash and scrape off the dead flies splattered all over my visor 🪰 My bike is equally splattered and will need a thorough clean when I get home.

First stop today was a short ride to CTL Motors at Cirencester, a used car and motorcycle dealership with a cafe which was thriving with visitors coming and going - well worth a visit and a walk around there used motorcycles and motorcycle display.

Then up the A417 to the Oily Rag, Gloucester, run by Archie - I've been here before and loved the vibe, I also met and chatted with Archie on his stall at the 101 Run Custom Bike Show held at Dreamland, Margate earlier this. This morning, it was buzzing, lots of people sat outside in the glorious sunshine chatting away and having a laugh. A good selection of bikes although one local commented “lots of boring v-twins” …… Archie owns two Harleys.

Had a chat with Archie who'll be back in Margate next year with a stall at the 101 Custom Bike Show.

From the Oily Rag, I went to a new place Revs Automoblia which has only been open two weeks, they held a Bike meet yesterday which i couldn'tmake but apparently had a great turnout - the staff were very friendly and great service/food. I hope they do something with their main car park, there's quite a bit gravel, however if you come in by the Shell garage next door there is a concreate parking area for bikes. It's about an hours ride from the Oily Rag on some great roads once you get past the roadworks (which seem to have been there forever) and speed cameras!

If you're ever in this area all of these places are well worth a visit.

I then returned to my accommodation via some back roads via Burford, past Diddly Squat and down to Swindon, then back up the A419. For a well deserved beer 🍺 a great day’s ride on some lovely roads.
