Following breakfast and a video call with Emma (my daughter), I set off from the Cotswolds about 9:30am. Planned route - take it easy M4, M25, M26, M20, M2, A299 - a rather boring ride but the quickets/easiest Google said it would take 3.5-4 hours (without stops) - as I set off early the roads were pretty clear and free flowing, even the M25, until I got on the M2 which was stacked. So I decided to leave the M2 and head down the A2 to H’s Cafe and meet some of the O55. After a couple of hours chatting we rode down to Solly’s for lunch/ice-cream. Followed by a blast home. A total of 197 miles, not the most exciting riding roads until turning off from the M2.
Last day blues? The whole journey has been brilliant, and in some respects it was difficult to come home. Yes, I missed friends, family and the bike life in Kent but life on the open road brings a different persepctive on life. The freedom of being on the road.
So what next? Apart from, the return to ‘normality’ work, family, planning the next O55 run on Sunday - do I now start planning the next tour :)
Here’s an idiot Mercedes Driver…..
Woah! Almost!
