Day 4 Finish mileage 42,356
Day 4 mileage 135 miles
Trip Total Mileage 634 miles
Left Penzance this morning about 9am and went to Lands End on the A30, a must whenever in Cornwall, every time you visit it's different. I've been there many times before, living in Devon it was almost an annual event. Today was the calmest I've ever seen Land End, it was a glorious sunny morning and getting pretty hot by 10am. I had a Cornwall coffee whilst at Lands End, nothing special, I still prefer Italian coffee … oops
From Lands End I took the back roads via St Just and Pendeem to get to St Ives, I didn't stop as it was packed with emmets/grockles 😂 so carried on to the A30, where I'll needed to refuel and then headed towards the A39. I thought i missed the junction (i didn't) so came off at the next appropriate junction and I'm glad I did, I found a great twisty A road heading towards Newquay and then picked up the A39 a great road only spoilt by traffic - i had a near miss with a car turning right but nothing to panic about 🫣😉
The A39 took me to my destination for the evening Westward-Ho, i arrived about 3:30pm, a place I visited last year with my Daughter (Emma), we had a great time. It's been sunny all day and fortunately not too hot, Westward-Ho is packed, and everyone is loving the beach life and the waves crashing onto the beach. Great to see.
No bike cafes/nights today, so no photos of other people’s bike, just mine 😄 (sorry, not). There has been some beautiful scenary, whilst our country has issues, I still think it has some of the most beautiful scenary I've seen anywhere in the world, you just need to get out and explore. Ignore the SatNav, ignore the plan, take a road that looks fun 😁
Tomorrow the route will continue along the North Coast of Devon, I'm intending to visit the Valley of the Rocks which i planned to do last year but it got rained off, so I'm on a mission to tick this off my bucket list. And then to meet Dale in Weston-super-Mare, a great guy I met last year on the Isle-of-White, he has a YouTube channel of all the bike nights he's visited, he still needs to come to Kent to visit our bike nights 😉 Then going to Grill and Gears bike event near Swindon, and then my accommodation on the outskirts of the Cotswolds- it should be a 170-180 mile trip tomorrow, lots of gorgeous roads, scenery and bikes 😄 oh yes, and great people of course 🙏💚🏍
Don't forget, if anyone wants to donate, here's the link, we've now broken the £1,300 barrier with quite a bit more to be added:
